"Ethnic Russian" more accurately describes the Russian-speaking 80% of the Donbas population in 2014 than "Russia-aligned."
According to a Sept. 30, 2022, article, "The History of Donbas’ Donetsk and Luhansk Regions Annexed by Russia," in Greek Reporter, a publication of an international Greek news network:
"The Donbas remained for the most part under the control of the Ukrainian Cossack Hetmanate and the Turkic Crimean Khanate until the mid-late 18th century, when the Russian Empire conquered the Hetmanate and annexed the Khanate.
"At the end of the 18th century, many Russians, Serbs, and Greeks migrated to the region. At that time, Russia named the conquered territories “New Russia.” As the Industrial Revolution expanded all across Europe, the enormous coal resources of the region, which were first discovered in 1721, began to be exploited in the mid-late 19th century."
The first official act of the 2014 Russophobic, ultranationalist coup government that seized power in Kiev after violently driving President Viktor Yanukovych out of Ukraine was to revoke Russian-speaking Ukrainians' linguistic minority rights. This was a direct attack on Russian ethnicity, Russian culture, and the Russian language in Ukraine, not "Russian alignment," which implies a political relationship.
Fascists hate ethnic minorities because their presence dilutes the cultural, linguistic, religious, and ethnic purity of the ultranationalist fascist state.

Netanyahu will soon find the pressure from the Kahenists too irresistable:
Ultimately, he knows that said whack jobs are the ones keeping him out of prison.
Therefore, even if it means outright National Suicide, that is what he will choose a la invading 🇱🇧 & trying to dislodge Hezbollah.
