Allowing strikes on Russia with US weapons, Biden hits new step in Ukraine escalation
The White House has given Ukraine approval to hit inside Russia with American weapons.
In more than two years of proxy warfare against Russia in Ukraine, the Biden administration has repeatedly provided Kyiv with weapons systems that it had earlier ruled out as too confrontational towards Moscow. That list includes MLRS-HIMARS rocket systems, cluster munitions, and most recently, the long-range missiles known as ATACMS. The White House’s decision to cross self-imposed red lines is the inevitable result of its commitment to “weakening” Russia above all else.
As Ukraine loses territory to a new Russian offensive in Kharkiv, the White House has reached a new step on the escalation ladder.
