The courageous, judicious, patient and temperate President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, is NOT a "maximalist"; on the contrary, he is a MINIMALIST, Mr Mate! His demands, repeated endlessly to the unheeding West, are the least required to protect Russia from NATO. His demands for constitutionally recasting Ukraine as an unmilitarized nation and untied to NATO or any other military alliance is no more than what was demanded of Austria after its defeat in alliance with NAZI Germany in WW2. It is a blind stupidity by Mate and Napolitano, two who should know better, to call Pres Putin's demands anything but the most reasonable minimum that Russia must have to secure its eastern and southern borders from further aggression by European power as has been done by Britain and France in 1856, by Germany and the Balkan states in WW1 and WW2. I am an American, but one who stands for a clearer vision of Russia's security needs than yours, "my friends."
During Trump's previous administration one could focus on the lies of the democrats and their accusations like Russia-gate and know it was a bold faced lie. You also knew his impeachment in the House by the democrats was a sham since it didn't have a chance in the Senate. Even the so called insurrection on January 6 you knew to be a bold faced lie. It was no more then a riot and you knew the democrats would use it to claim he wanted to take over the reins of power in America. The democrats were so clear they wanted to oust him from office, hated him, but now I haven't a clue to a lot of what he's doing, because Trump keeps flip-flopping on what he says, and everyone has a different explanation as to the why of it. Also I thought what Mandy Patinkin said was very heart felt, and personal. What disgusts me in regard to Israel is it's sheer hypocrisy of implementing a genocide while they have used the Jewish Holocaust of the past to shield them from criticism through decades of their many abuses against the Palestinians, as well as using it to gain power to shut out any criticism. AIPAC has got to go.
I'm sure Mandy Patinkin's words were from the heart, but he still loves Israel and believes it should exist. This is the point where I have to disagree. Mr. Patinkin's mind still carries some Zionist views. If he still wants Israel to exist, then he isn't angry enough about what he is seeing.
Israel's existence means the oppression of another people. Why should anyone suffer to benefit others? Where is the balance and equality? Quite frankly, he needs to add himself to the list of Jewish people he's requesting to reevaluate their thoughts on Israel.
