Wow! You did an amazing job fending off the b/s those two Israeli propagandists were slinging. They are masters of hasbara, with no end of blather to elide, confuse, finally resorting to claims you are a mere Canadian (haha) self hating Jew, anitemsite, while they wear victimhood on their sleeves and never, NEVER address the facts of Zionist/Israeli barbarism. I don't know how you keep your cool. Thank you for what you do Aaron!

Thank you so much for what you tried to do Aaron. I'm sorry you were subjected to their abuse. Who and what those Israeli spokesmen are was visible for all to see and is what the Palestinians have been up against from the start. There is absolutely no comparison between the final attempt of resistance, their prison outbreak and ensuing violence on October 7th that the Gazans were endlessly, mercilessly pushed towards and these last 9 months of Israeli genocide, barbarity, torture and butchery! And all that blathering propaganda is meaningless without the frame of decades of history and context.

Who is shocked, serious question.

What is shocking is how owned Biden is by AIPAC money. In fact all the Dems now including Saint Bernie with very very few exceptions in Michigan, take Zionist money and are owned by the lies of the Zionist narrative. While my 100% Jewish family were never Zionist, this is way beyond a matter of ignoring.

In the US now, the issue of tolerance for Israeli lies and genocide is turning into a left/ right, more than a Jewish issue. The Democrats are a disgrace, they literally all take money from AIPAC. Soon people like me, will abandon them. I am way past being willing to vote for Biden…. But since I live in CA, it is easy as the Dems are the only party that can win, for any statewide election. So now what….

If the republicans were in power you would have the same scenario. It's not just Biden, but the lot of them and the lobby feeds them all, as do rich Jews who support Israel. Did you read, "Adelson, the wife of the late billionaire Sheldon Adelson, has reportedly pledged to spend more than $100 million to support former President Donald Trump in the upcoming general election after staying neutral in the Republican presidential primaries this year.

Adelson, an Israeli-born physician who specializes in substance abuse, is set to finance a rejuvenated pro-Trump super PAC, Preserve America, which was initially formed for Trump’s reelection bid in 2020, Politico reported Thursday. The Adelsons contributed $90 million to Trump in that election cycle. "

I think she wants the money to be invested in Israel totally taking over the West Bank, that is ousting the Palestinians, which they have been doing for years, and in recent years much more so. Hamas claimed it was one of the reasons for their attack on Oct 7.

Do you really believe that you whole Govt. is not owned by AIPAC? Republicans too.

Where is the money coming from..................look up Rothchilds!

I know for a fact who takes money from @AIPAC , which is the Zionist funding operation in the US. It is public. Google it.

in my opinion framing it as the Rothschilds is not helpful, no way to quantify that.

But Zionist donations via AIPAC, is public information, and….literally every elected Democrat except for a few Arabs, living in Michigan , take this money.

Freaking Biden took the biggest donation ever .. from AIPAC , which stands for American Israel Public Action Committee … if they are funded by mysterious Rothschilds, I have no access to that kind of information. . But they are funded by rich American Zionists, that is without dispute. My 100 % Jewish family were never Zionist… we lean left. Israel is now a left right issue, here issue here. .

Aaron, you are a genuine investigative journalist. Holding the powerful accountable in the name of the powerless.

I hold a large measure of trust in your reporting and that of Max as well on this topic. You folks were courageous by being out in front of this revelation and took extreme heat for it.

With the Haaretz piece along with photographs of the damage to the cars at the rave, it could be said the IDF slaughtered most of the Israeli dead. Not Hamas.

One further comment, has everyone forgotten all those occupations at universities last spring.. do you think these young people, including a grand kid of mine, will forget their instinctual recognition of the racism of the Democrats …like poof, using the deleted button.

They are all old enough to vote. Many like mine voted in the last election, mine said, bubbe, how I can I vote for anyone?

I am not defending the democrats, but are republicans any different when it comes to Israel? America has never been an honest broker in that regard and AIPAC makes sure it isn't.

I'm not sure how hard he tried. My understanding of “debate" includes fixed speaking times and a moderator to enforce agreed-upon rules. I saw none of that here. Which is too bad. It could have been an interesting discourse.

Piers doesn’t learn a thing. Watch him abuse and shout down Roger Waters. He twists things, misdirects, steps on the point, and goads those he invited, utterly disrespectful. Hhe pretends to be agreeable to bamboozle listeners, and hasn’t “won” a debate on Palestine yet.

That is also what I see. I've no idea why he even has a show, but Aaron can do much better that to deal with Piers.

Oh, on that point I agree. I really would have liked to hear Mate speak without being interrupted so repeatedly. The Rabbi's comments certainly showed great distain for him as if he had no background on this issue to even offer up an opinion. Both showed that kind of distain, but not to Levy because no matter his opinion he's an Israeli, although I certainly like him.

When was the last time you saw Norman Finkelstein, Jeffrey Sachs or Aaron Maté being interviewed on CNN or MSNBC? Morgan may hold opinions that you disagree with, but he has very informed guests that have alternate point of views. He could easily invite only people he agrees with or people he knows he could crush easily, like some other show hosts.

I have no problem allowing Piers to have whatever opinions he wants to have. I have a problem with how he conducts his program. Inviting people on with widely different, passionately held views is a great idea, imo. Purposely allowing that gathering to turn into a free for all of shouting and name calling has about as much social value as a WWA match. Aaron is worth much more than that, imo.

Fran's avatar

Morgan should have intervened sooner when the rabbi went on a vicious verbal assault which in reality had no credibility, and he doesn't even give recognition to who Mate' father is.The Rabbi needs to do a lot of soul searching before he spouts his venom and tries to extinguish a person who disagrees with him.

Considering the uproar over 'rules based order,' who beside Dr. Ralph Wilde will think to wield the magic sword of international law? An early strike to leave an ignorant opposition speechless; the rest is moot. A debate on the merits. Why not demand the discussion be about the law?

The opinion, "Is the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and Gaza ‘legal’ or ‘illegal’ in international law?"

See p. 9, "8c. Importance of the correct starting point: EVERYTHING Israel does in the West Bank and Gaza lacks a valid international basis and is an illegal exercise of authority . . ."

https://www.ucl.ac.uk/laws/sites/laws/files/ralph_wilde_opt_legal_opinion.pdf

The brief, "The international law of self-determination and the use of force requires an immediate end to the occupation of the Palestinian West Bank and Gaza"

See p. 2, "There is a widespread failure to appreciate, acknowledge, and adopt policy positions regarding the end of the occupation that reflect the correct position in international law."

See p. 3, "The occupation is supposed to end straight away, because it has no valid legal basis to exist. Put differently, its very existence is illegal . . . [and] . . . no justification under the law on the use of force is available."

the 38+k figure has remained constant for months and some believe the true number is more likely over 175k.

Neither US or Israel give one thought to international law…nether the US or Israel never signed on to any of it….

The issue for the election, imo, is to force the Democrats and particularly Biden to confront that progressives don’t like the blatant racism of the Zionists….now let’s talk about the great swing state of Michigan with a huge Arab electorate, who largely work in the fully unionized auto industry.

already there have been votes inside the UAW calling out the racism and genocide by Israel in historic Palestine.Biden can’t win without Michigan…..

Quite a distressing and chaotic watch in which Piers Morgan did nothing to stop the Zionist extremists from talking over Aaron Mate's contribution, and this made it very difficult to establish key facts. They did this intentionally, just as they use irrational labels such as "antisemite" for anyone who disagrees with them, because there are no rational arguments to defend their positions. Piers Morgan was very quick to slap Aaron down when he interrupted. Gideon Levy has been arguing this corner since he was sent thirty-five years ago to cover the story of a Palestian pregnant woman who was held up at three miliary checkpoints and the baby was born at the third one. In the end she had to walk two and a half miles to the hospital. When she got there the baby was dead. Levy was very surprised to find that the story was true. At that time there was a little bit of soul-searching. Not much, but a slight awareness of everyone's humanity. Unfortunate perhaps but easily forgotten. Since then such events have spiralled out of all control and Israel has become a sad country almost entirely devoid of empathy. This status cannot last forever. It never does, and the country will wake with a very bad headache in decade or so. In the meantime Palestinians are being massacred and no one is doing anything about it - or at least no one with power is doing anything. America and most of the West are absolutely complicit. However, the two on the right side of history put up a good fight and what I learnt from the video was the palpable power of irrationalism driven by a narcissistic self-belief that is unshakable. It is a depressing lesson but a lesson we must learn.

Producers of the show recorded in the video above performed dismally by not muting the microphones of panelists not speaking in answer to a question directed at them personally by the interviewer. The intent is obvious because the feeling of rising tension in the viewer seems precisely the point of the show, namely an episode of emotional manipulation.

Allowing two Israeli fanatics to rant over Aaron and Gideon Levy is a serious disservice to viewers wanting to inform themselves of the facts of the matter at hand and an even more reprehensible insult to Aaron and Mr. Levy for subjecting them to such relentlessly hostile crossfire.

Aaron performed admirably, far more rationally and with much more patience than I could ever maintain in such a belligerent atmosphere.

The two Israeli fanatics on that panel demonstrated precisely the dehumanizingly savage ferocity with which the entire Israeli project imposes itself on anyone who questions its deluded fantasy of what it stands for and what it is.

Hats off to Aaron for holding his own in a terrible verbal spectacle with maniacs raving from the reflecting side of a one-way mirror.

Why isn’t AIPAC considered a terrorist organization since everything out of Israel has been a complete and utter lie. Our country is jailing college students for protesting the fact that Palestinians are being mass murdered while AIPAC pays to allow for mass murder of Palestinians.
