The sorrow in Hibbah Jarmakani's eyes and strain in her voice show the incredible pain and suffering Syrian Druze have endured, and the horror is still ongoing. Why does the road of death and destruction always lead back to the same culprits? If there's a conflict, I automatically expect to hear that the United States of Israel, the UK or Europe is involved in some way.
I found both interviews distressing, especially the second one, with Ms Jarmakani. The Alawites and Druze of Syria must be heard, not from MSM but in their own words. Thank you for giving them this opportunity and for your uncompromising integrity.
I never hear loud and clear that the US and Israel created the widespread turmoil and instability which defines the Middle East today and ultimately led to all the horror happening in Syria and other Middle eastern countries in this 21st century. To me it's never put in context so that you can derive an overall perspective. I never hear about Obama and his role in Syria. I enjoyed listening to both of Mate's guests who were very informative, but I would really have liked things put within a context of how we got here.
Dear Aaron, I have been following your reports/podcasts as well as your dad's for quite a long time. Allow me to correct. The Alawites, at least the middle/upper class, were controlling all the levers of power/finance in Syria, and even in Lebanon from behind. This is based on my personal experience. Saying that, this does not justify the present persecutions..
Thank you for staying on top of this horrible situation and reporting it to us. You have been on it from the beginning and have not stopped, even when it has faded into the background (unfortunately).

Amazing work, Aaron and The Grayzone.

Thank you for interviewing, Hibbah Jarmakani, she was articulate in describing the situation in Syria and its history.
