Is Biden still alive or are we watching Blinken covering for an 80yr old mentally challenged decrepit US President. I am truly discomfited that in this day and age we don't even know who is running this great Democracy. Every person in the DNC should be shoved in prison.

I just hope more sane Govts. in the World can make a difference and STOP this.

We have many neocons in Biden's administration as there were during the Bush Cheney years and we have implemented their agenda during this 21 century, therefore our many Middle Eastern wars which have killed and displaced millions. They care nothing for Palestinian life, or the lives of Muslims, and feel they have a free hand in killing off those who reside in countries, like Iran, Syria, Libya, Iraq, etc. I wish Mate would have given them their rightful due since the whole blame does not reside with Biden, and no doubt this senile old man can be persuaded to have a change of heart. However that is not to say he wasn't a warmonger in his day and pushed every war going. The greatest blame belongs with Israel and Netanyahu and I don't think any one should forget that.  Blinken was on John Tapper spewing lies to justify this carnage, that is lying his ass off in support of this war in referencing Hamas's slaughter and rape of women which they denied, It is a lie put forth and supported by a group from Israel who are known liars motivated by money. Max Blumenthal has an excellent article on them, and their founder.  I believe he was a known rapist. You can go to Grayzone to read about them. The blame belongs to Israel, to Netanyahu, to the neocons who run the show in America and that is not to lessen the condemnation of our representatives who haven't the courage to confront Israel at every turn and therefore complicit in the genocide Israel is implementing with our assistance.

I agree, these days Biden is quite the zombie and no doubt could be encouraged to go down another path, since he always needs help in deciding what exit he should take. Hope you saw Blinken on John Tapper providing an excuse for the carnage in Gaza the Israeli's are perpetrating. He referenced the lie of rape and more rape as justification for a genocide. It was diversion from the real slaughter, and an excuse, and provided by a bunch of crooks that Max covered in the Grayzone. Max always seems to have the courage to handle the truth.

Actually it is a 'endless chasm' BUT looking at the countries that do not support Israel OR the USA (little GB) is giving me hope that one day we can exist on this tiny planet and be friends!

The raising of the arm by the US representative at the UN last Friday, a lone act, a brazen act of indifference and distain to the thousands of women and children dying in Gaza, won't be lost on the people's of that region and indeed the world at large. The US under this administration is shattering its position as any form of broker or partner for peace, its announcing to the world that it plays by its own rules, it always did of course, but never in full view of a watching world.

The US and Israel have shredded any moral authority they ever possessed. Russia and China watch as the US signs the suicide pact and will only have to patiently wait for the predictable consequences to unfold.

It's been downhill since the end of World War Two. The reasons are three and absolutely clear:

(1) Per Eisenhower's prophetic statement: "In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist." The military industrial complex became a war-for-profit business resulting in the looting of American wealth and worldwide murder;

(2) The 1947 creation of the National Security Act, which created a shadow government which now controls our country;

And finally (3) The creation of the state of Israel which has transformed the American Jewish diaspora into a treasonous Israel-first 5th column resulting US degeneracy and the end of American moral integrity.

Take a look at Modi in India and Biden's speeches and hugs for this man who wants a Hindu State.

i really don't get america's position on this. am i wrong to assume that both israel and usa will become increasingly isolated/ pariah states the day after? the difference with east timor is that it was not broadcast in such detail as social media has been able to do and there is clearly a sense of immediacy as the genocide unfolds. larry wilkerson says that he expects israel will no longer exist in 20 years (i assume as a zionist state). so what is the long term strategy in this? what is their expected outcome? i'm truly baffled.

I HOPE this will happen.....yes 'isolate' the US and Israel by all means but unless Europe gets a backbone we will all be the same. Personally it seems we have become sadists/masochists/warmongers in the name of DEMOCRACY which clearly we do not have.

Follow the money. Wealthy Jewish donors are barely behind the scene.

I say this as a permanently lapsed Jew.

I'm appalled about the longterm Israeli plan now seen by all, dictated by their wargod, and who haven't lived in Palestine or owned it in over 1000 years. I'm disgusted to be an American citizen. I'm disgusted about the whole American an European cabal.

We are tipping over a precipice from which there will be no return.

I feel that the majority of the world looked at the Hamas attack as horrendous (I do). What fails to be discussed is the occupation of the Palestinian state. There are two countries occupying territories... China and Israel and both are based on false claims.

Hamas attacks Israel and the United States wants to give Israel $41M in military support. That is roughly $41M greater than GNP of Gaza. So, instead of resolving a problem, it is exacerbating the situation while conflating the conditions which led to the illegal occupation.

China has assimilated Tibet into the Chinese political landscape but Israel is bombing Gaza into the landscape.

Expand full comment

What was Hamas supposed to do if not attack? Just wait patiently for the Gazans' coming, inevitable death? That was/is the Jews' goal since the original Nakba. Mostly unknown, Hamas was elected and both Gaza and the West Bank loved the election. The founder of Hamas was a decent, gentle man and Hamas has strict religious rules of war: no killing women, children, elderly or non-combatants. They obey these rules, unlike the IDF WLwho has zero respect for ANY Palestinian, not even babies whom the snippers shoot dead when in their mothers' arms, then forcevthe mother to throw her baby/todler off the side of the road before allowing her to move forward to a checkpoint. They also have permission to rape, to "ease the stress of war." Hamas does not rape, let alone kill babies. Their attack was warrented and has been for 17 years. I'm with them.

1. Hamas attacked the Palestinians with prior knowledge from Israel.

There is a graph somewhere on the internet (investment banking and economics) which clearly shows that people in Washington and Israel knew this attack was coming. IF I can find it I will do a link.

2. This has been going on for years.

Trying to undo the sins of the nation state within the confines of the nation-state concept is likely to be unsuccessful. Part of what I want to do is to encourage more of us to think about new ways to think and act on this issue.

There must be a permanent ceasefire, not with Palestinians suffering under oppressive conditions, but as a place where all live with peace and equality. It is time for Pope Francis to do more than talk. He must go to Gaza and make a stand for peace and freedom.

Please sign the petition and share widely.

The US and most of the West has no credibility whatever on any any issue, none morally, and a minus quantity on Gaza and Palestine: whatever position they claim to take is diametrically opposite to the truth manifest by their actions. They don't give a damn, are living in another age strictly in their imagination when the US had power and influence in the world. But many do notice, have influence and economic power, and are unwilling to swallow more BS.

The ongoing genocide perpetrated by the current Israeli government is the defining moment of 2023. There is no clear exit strategy for Israel. Netanyahu's back is against the wall, personally and professionally as a butcher. He calls President Putin who tells him to stand down. Israel in its current form is finished as is the US. What a waste of so many children, women, men; Palestinian and Ukrainian.

There is well-organized, well-funded power, and ordinary people. The tricks the former are playing to convince us that things are not how we perceive them, and we are only harming ourselves by our intransigence (as in Eyes Wide Shut) don't seem to be working: there are more and larger protests against Israel's murderous policies in Gaza , no matter the threats and accusations of antisemitism. That is encouraging.
