Spot on assessment, Aaron. Many thanks. 👍

This agreement, even if only a temporary pause, looks like a strategic error on the part of Iran. The Hormuz squeeze was just a few weeks away from imposing major economic costs on the US and its Western allies. A recession, or worse, would have been the result, along with major political damage to Trump, and likely his Zionist backers and influencers.

With the US stock market bubble, compounded by the AI bubble, the US public increasingly turning against Israel, and the midterm elections just a few months away, the timing could not have been better for Iran to simply sit on its hands for a few more weeks and watch the collapse of Western economies--giving them a taste of what "maximum pressure" means in an economic sense. I'm not sure Iran will ever have such a major strategic opportunity again.

Iran knows that this ceasfire is as solid as soaked toilet tissue. The zio ideology is "contoll all", in essence Borg-ish, in nature. This ceasfire has less chance of lasting than a parafin doll has in a self-cleaning oven.

So, things would have worked out for the best if Trump's deal with Iran had not gone through, since you believe it to be a temporary pause. "The Hormuz squeeze was just a few weeks away from imposing major economic costs on the US and its Western allies." By that you mean it's citizens would sustain the brunt of that decision. "A recession, or worse, would have been the result, along with major political damage to Trump, and likely his Zionist backers and influencers." So to bring Trump down, and his Zionist backers, which I would like to see also, but I would never be so cavalier about imposing that burden on ordinary folk to obtain it, which is what you are saying, and in a manner I find very insensitive.

Iran has been living under depression conditions for many long years due to the US bipartisan sanctions and maximum pressure campaigns, not to mention Israeli sabotage and assassination operations, and now the US/Israel unprovoked attacks on Iran which caused Iran to close the Strait to begin with.

So, I am not proposing a recession on anyone, but merely pointing out that Iran, in its best interests, might have pushed its advantage to ensure that any proposed "peace deal" would provide long term guarantees for its security and sovereignty. As it is, the US and Israel will simply ignore any agreements reached, now that the oil is beginning to flow and markets are once again booming. Iran just provided Trump and Netanyahu a life raft.

I in no way do I support Israel's long term goals for Iran, nor did I support our ME wars fought on Israel's behalf, or the control it has over our elected officials through AIPAC! I'm willing to take a wait and see attitude in regard to this "peace" deal because if nothing is done the world economy could suffer greatly where there are no winners. If Trump chose to take this route to win the upcoming elections and then backs down, or lets the deal fall apart, and the economy sinks it makes it even worse for the republicans and democrats as well, since total trust will be lost. I mention democrats because lets not forget it was the democrats and it's neocon brigade that gave a thumps up to a genocide. Not to mention Biden was always a devout Zionist who supported Netanyahu and his lies in regard to Iraq being on the road to developing nuclear weapons, as well as pushing that lie down the throats of fellow democrats who were all to willing to buy it.

Fran - I think you are spot on in pointing out that Trump can certainly wait until after the midterm elections to renege on the deal. He will then have two more years in office to find or create a suitable pretext to resume his long-standing efforts—along with his Zionist backers—to crush Iran. That is why I believe Iran could have made a better deal, but we will now just have to wait and see.

At this point I don't have a choice and if you listen to Mearsheimer on the economy he says if this remains an unresolved issue it will devastate the world economy, and not just our own. I'll try to be hopeful. Lets get rid of AIPAC in both parties since they have been nothing but destructive to US!
